House of Q Declared Reserve Grand Champion

House of Q was declared the Reserve Grand Champion on May 29th at the Canadian Festival of Chili and BBQ at the Cascades Casino in Langley, BC. The event, the longest running bbq competition in British Columbia, was founded by the late David and Pat Veljacic who are noted as the pioneers of competition bbq and chili in the province.
The event drew 27 teams from Oregon, Washington and all over British Columbia. The entries included pulled pork, brisket, chicken and ribs and after tallying the scores, House of Q was declared Reserve Grand Champion behind Wine Country BBQ from Duvall, Washington. Dances With Smoke was a couple of points just behind BBQ Brian and his team.
The Canadian Festival of Chili and BBQ was previously held a different venues and was the very first competition for the House of Q in 2005. At that event, BBQ Brian and teammate Glenn Erho came home with their very first ribbons and inspired them to continue on with many more since then.
Being the first competition of the year for the team and with the ambition to defend their Team of the Year status from 2010, the declaration is significant and allows them to take a solid lead before the remaining events this summer.
